The Community Fellow works in the First Year Experience (FYE) program for the Office of Housing and Residence Life. The Community Fellow works directly on a residential floor of approximately 25-50 students. This position reports to the building supervisor, the Coordinator for Residence Life (CRL). The CF works in conjunction with the Resident Advisor (RA) staff, in creating a community that enhances student's potential to succeed at the university. The Community Fellow will help create this community through active and passive programming, individual interactions with residents, and meetings with staff. The Community Fellow serves as a positive role model to students in the First Year Experience Program.

Position Requirements
- One year of prior residential experience
- Sign up for campus housing for the Fall 2009 semester
- At least 30 semester credit hours by the start of the Fall 2009 semester and be in good judicial standing
- Must maintain a cumulative and semester GPA of 2.75 throughout employment
- Abide by all regulations and policies of the University and Housing and Residence Life including the Alcohol and Drug policy. Community Fellows involved in any infraction of University and/or Housing and Residence Life policy may be subject to termination of employment
Compensation
- A great experience serving as a positive role model for first year students
- A stipend of $500 per semester to be paid monthly
- NOTE: All community fellows will have roommates of their own choosing, for the entire academic year
Time Commitment and Responsibilities
- Attend floor events, FYE functions, staff meetings, and programs as directed by their supervisor
- Assist in the recruitment of FYE participants during special events (i.e. Open House) during the Spring Semester
- Asked to serve on Departmental Committees, assist with training and recruitment of future staff
- Other duties as assigned
