Winter Break Housing

Winter Break housing is available for students currently living in Lofts on Lee, Spring Garden Apartments, or Tower Village Residence Halls. If you do not live in one of these 3 residence halls and you NEED Winter Break Housing (e.g., job, no where else to go for the break period, etc.), we may be able to accommodate a very limited number of these requests by allowing students to stay in a temporary location in a residence hall for the Winter Break period.

The Winter Break Period for 2012 will begin 5 p.m. on December 13, 2012 and will end at 8 a.m. January 9, 2013. The charge for Winter Break Housing will be $540 for students utilizing break housing and will be billed directly to your student account. This is an all-inclusive charge and is not pro-rated based on the number of days you stay in your room over the break (for example, if you only stay 2 days over the break vs. someone who stays the entire break period, you both will pay $540).

The housing contract for Lofts on Lee residents provides year-round occupancy including University break periods; therefore, residents of Lofts on Lee will not have to pay for Winter Break Housing. We still ask any Lofts on Lee residents who will be here at any point during the Winter Break period to go ahead and sign up so we know you will be accessing your apartments during the break but these residents will not have to pay the $540 Winter Break charge.

All University and Housing and Residence Life rules, regulations, and policies will be in effect over the Winter Break period.

Requests for Winter Break Housing must be received by Noon December 3, 2012. Any requests to cancel a winter break housing request must be submitted by email to hrl@uncg.edu and received by no later than noon, December 3, 2012. No requests to cancel winter break housing will be processed after noon on December 3, 2012 and Winter Break Housing charges will remain on your student account.
