    The QUAD - Amenities  Bailey/Coit/Cotten/Gray/Hinshaw/Jamison/Shaw

    Amenities Common to All Quad Residence Halls

    Following are amenities that can be found in each of the residence halls in the suite-style buildings that will comprise the new Quad area. It is important to note that all seven Quad residence hall residents will have access to the Shaw amenities (recreation room, multi-purpose room, etc.).

    • Elevator access to upper floors
    • Laundry rooms on every floor
    • Single rooms with extra long full beds (54" x 80")
    • Double rooms with extra long twin beds (36" x 80")
    • Every residential room is carpeted, has a sink outside the bathroom, closet (generally 2' x 4') for each of the occupants, and mini-blinds
    • Bathrooms - no more than 4 students share a bathroom. Bathrooms have ceramic tile and solid surface shower walls - Please Note: Shower curtains will be provided and are 72" in length to fit showers.
    • Every room is air-conditioned, with its own thermostat control
    • All buildings are ADA accessible and with an adundance of ADA accessible rooms
    • Typical room furniture includes:
      • loftable bed
      • desk
      • desk/task chair
      • dresser
      • lockable credenza (that goes with desk)
      • closet
    • Trash room - no chutes, all students must bring trash to the first floor trash room
    • Bike storage in basement, accessible from outside, bike loops to lock bikes up outside
    • New walkways and seating areas scattered in a beautifully landscaped, grassed common area
    • Note: No ceiling fans are in the rooms

    Bailey, Coit, Cotten, Gray, Hinshaw, Jamison

    These residence halls are all designed similarly and amenities are located as follow.

    1st floor

    • the only full kitchen
    • faculty/staff 1 br/1 ba apartments along with a professional office (in Hinshaw, Cotten and Jamison -other buildings have student rooms in place of these)
    • social lounge and parlor
    • trash room - no chutes, all students must bring trash here
    • laundry room with two washers and two dryers (stack type, not side)

    2nd floor

    • RA office
    • lounge, overlooking 1st floor parlor
    • laundry room with two washers and two dryers (stack type, not side)
    • vending machines

    3rd floor

    • study lounge overlooking roofline
    • laundry room with two washers and two dryers (stack type, not side)
    • vending machines

    In addition, stairwells can be accessed on each end of the halls, with a prominent stairwell in center of buildings near the elevator. There are main entrances on the Quad side of the buildings, in addition to pre-existing access points.

    Shaw

    The Shaw Residence Hall is a bit different from the other buildings that make up the Quad. Shaw will serve as the focal point of the Quad, offering a large plaza with seating walls - a great new entertainment space overlooking the expansive lawn. In addition, where the other buildings have one elevator, Shaw has two. Shaw also houses the game room for the entire Quad.

    1st Floor

    • Facing Shaw from the EUC, the right side has public spaces with a full kitchen and the left side has residential spaces with a full kitchen and laundry room with one washer and one dryer
    • CRL apartment with 2 br, 2 ba, laundry room
    • Multi-Purpose Room
    • Recreation Room
    • 2 Seminar Rooms with restrooms (accessible separate from the rest of the building)
    • Group Study Room
    • Faculty Offices

    2nd floor

    • all residential spaces, 60% singles and 40% doubles
    • laundry room two washers and two dryers (side type, not stacked)
    • kitchens and vending on both sides of hall
    • no lounge on 2nd floor

    3rd floor

    • all residential spaces, 60% singles and 40% doubles
    • laundry room two washers and two dryers (side type, not stack)
    • kitchens and vending on both sides of hall
    • social lounge
