Stephen Sills, Professor of Sociology, kicked off Housing and Residence Life's Annual Human Rights Lecture Series on September 15 at 6:30 p.m. Sills delivered a presentation on his research and work with the Greensboro Fair Housing Project to a crowded, engaged group of students in Mary Foust's Ashby Parlor. Sills is an energetic, thoughtful professor and an invaluable asset to the UNCG community. He is one of the co-directors for the Human Rights Network, an on-campus organization devoted to creating dialogue and promoting action around human rights and social justice. One student sums Sills's talk up best: “he was able to keep our attention for an hour and a half after a full day's worth of classes.”
Jose Villalba will give the next lecture on Tuesday, October 13, at 7:00 p.m. in Mary Foust's Ashby Parlor. Villalba's lecture will focus on mental health concerns in immigrant and refugee populations. All students, staff, and faculty are welcome. We hope to see you there.
