Jose Villalba, Associate Professor of Counseling and Education, facilitated a stimulating conversation on mental health issues in immigrant and refugee populations on October 13 at 7:00 pm in Mary Foust Residence Hall. Villalba answered questions from a curious and energetic audience who included UNCG students and member from the Greensboro community for over an hour. Villalba's generosity and intellectual curiosity is infectious, as one student later confirmed, "Professor Villalba is awesome. I'm a biology major, and I now want to change my major and work in the mental health profession."
Angel Katona, from the Newcomers School, will lead the next discussion on Monday, November 9, at 6:00 p.m. in Mary Foust's Ashby Parlor. Katona and a few students from Newcomers will talk about the school and address ways we can advocate with it.
