Spring 2026 Housing Application

Students in need of housing for the Spring 2026 semester should visit the Housing and Residence Life Main Office (located in Ragsdale-Mendenhall) in person between 9am and 4pm to complete an application.

Applying for Housing

    • There may be extra steps if you choose to participate in Special Interest Housing
  2. View the Residence Halls
  3. *TRANSFERS ONLY* Activate Your iSpartan Email Account
    • Before you Apply for housing, you must activate your iSpartan Email Account
      • Go to https://myaccount.uncg.edu and log in with the username (username@uncg.edu) and temporary password you received in your notification email.
      • Set a new password.
      • Provide a non-UNCG email address.
      • Choose and answer five security questions for password recovery. The answers to the questions are CASE SENSITIVE. For added security, the answers are not viewable by 6TECH staff.
      • Note: It takes two business days after you confirm your admission to UNCG, to be able to set up your iSpartan account in order to access Artemis.
    • If you are unable to claim your account, contact the Office of the Registrar at 336.334.5946. To verify everything is working correctly, log into your UNCG email account. 
  4. Read the Housing Contract
    • Prepare for completing your housing contract. The Housing Contract is a legally binding document. Please read it carefully, as you are responsible for fulfilling the terms of the contract.
  5. Test Your Access for Artemis
    • You can test that your iSpartan account works ahead of time in Artemis, but you will not be able to complete an application until the application period begins.
    • Parent/Legal Guardian Approval: If a student is not 18 years of age at the time the online Housing Application is submitted, a parent or legal guardian will need to agree with the conditions and terms of the Housing Contract. Instructions for this step are available in ARTEMIS.

Click on “Apply for Housing”

Make sure you complete all steps of the application

Read and Acknowledge the Housing Contract

Pay your $200 Prepayment

If you have an Student Aid Index (SAI) of $1000 or less on your 2025-26 FAFSA application, this fee is waived.

Once you have completed your housing application and paid your $200 prepayment, you will be able to choose your assignment when the self assign period begins. If the Self Assign period is open, you will be able to self assign 2 business days after completing the $200 prepayment.

Assigning to A Room

During Self Assign Period Only

Select Your Room (During the Group Leader’s Time)

Click Room Selection

Click Save and Continue You will not be able to proceed if it is before your selection time.

During tour assigned time:

  • Log into Artemis
  • Click Priority Selection
  • Click Continue for the correct term
  • Continue past the roommate page.

Choose a Room

  • Available rooms will populate
  • You may view room details (including connected suites) Example: Bailey 127 / 129 means the rooms share a bathroom
  • Add your preferred room to your cart
  • 10-minute timer will begin, you have until this timer ends to finish the process

Assign Beds & Finalize

  • Click Save and Continue
  • Assign a bed to yourself
  • Click Assign Beds
  • Click “YOU MUST CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE” to finish your assignment

Once you complete this step your assignment is final and you will not be able to change it. You will be unable to change rooms until the Room Change Period which will open April 6.

New Transfer and Off-Campus HouSing Application FAQ

The best way to find roommates or friends is to start with the Roommate Finder.

No, only returners who have completed their applications on their priority day can be in a returner priority housing group. Please note this is a change from past years.

Shower curtains will be provided for students. Throughout the year, students are responsible cleaning their shower curtains. Students will be billed for any damaged or missing shower curtains.

Curtains or other window treatments cannot be hung in suites and apartments. All windows within rooms and common areas have mini-blinds.

It is not possible to see your room prior to the scheduled move-in day. Housing and Residence Life staff is not available to provide tours and the buildings will be undergoing final touches prior to officially opening.

Your room is your responsibility. Common areas are the responsibility of all individuals in the suite or apartment. Throughout the academic year, Housing and Residence Life staff will conduct Health and Safety Inspections. If your room or common area is not healthy or safe you will be instructed to clean. Housing and Residence Life encourages students to clean bathrooms, bedrooms, and common areas on a regular basis.

Yes. Bathrooms within a suite or apartment are the responsibility of all individuals living there. Throughout the academic year Housing and Residence Life staff will conduct Health and Safety Inspections. If bathrooms are not in a healthy or safe condition, all individuals in the suite or apartment will be instructed to clean the bathroom.

Housing and Residence Life encourages students to clean bathrooms on a regular basis. Cleaning bathrooms on a regular basis prevents permanent staining of showers, sinks, and toilets. Permanent staining of showers, sinks, and toilets will result in damage billing charges to all students living within a suite or apartment.

Yes. All residents will be required to complete a roommate agreement with a roommate or roommates. The roommate agreement form available on Artemis gives you an opportunity to set general expectations for your living environment while exploring visitation, cleaning responsibilities, use of personal property, and personal habits of everyone in your room, suite, or apartment.

All shower facilities have shower rods.

Each suite or apartment has one thermostat in the common space. The thermostat regulates the temperature of common areas and individual rooms within the suite or apartment. Individuals are responsible for selecting a temperature that is suitable for all within an assigned suite or apartment.

It is recommended that students keep thermostats set between 68 and 74 degrees. This temperature range promotes energy conservation while creating a maximum temperature comfort.

Yes. Suites have centrally located kitchens. Each kitchen is furnished with an oven, microwave, stove, sink, and refrigerator. Each apartment has a full kitchen with all of the appliances and counter space you need to make your own meals and refrigerate them for later. Residents should provide their own pots and pans, coffee makers, etc.

Toilet paper is NOT furnished to students in a suite or apartment. Individuals must purchase their own toilet paper. Housing and Residence Life recommends that residents develop a system to share costs associated with purchasing toilet paper throughout the academic year.
