Cancel Housing

All residential students are bound by the Housing and Dining contract they agree to at the time they submit their housing application. The housing contract is the best place to start if you are considering cancelling your housing.

Fall 2023 Housing Cancellations

As of August 21, 2023, those wishing to cancel their housing must come to the HRL Office (located in Ragsdale-Mendenhall). Please review the 23-24 Housing Contract to see if you are eligible to cancel your Housing for the 2023-24 academic year. If you are able to be released from the Housing Contract you will be charged a $500 Cancellation Fee and be refunded per the University Refund Policy. If your Housing Contract is canceled your meal plan will also be canceled.

Please be sure to review the current Housing Contract prior to submitting an appeal for any information related to your appeal request. You are not released from the terms of the contract until your appeal has been reviewed and a decision is reported to you at your @uncg.edu email address.
