Summer 2024 Dates

The Office of Housing and Residence Life is pleased to offer intern housing in 2024. Participants must be current college students, aged 18 years or older, and be participating in a summer internship or a supervised research program. Interns will stay in an apartment style building: Lexington Hall.

Intern housing will be available from May 10 – August 3, 2024.

Rates

The cost for summer internship housing is $2,200. This price includes a mandatory background check, a parking permit, a Kaplan Wellness Center membership, and a 2-bedroom apartment with an apartment mate. Every student will have the ability to request a roommate on the summer intern housing application.

Beginning March 1, 2024, interns may initiate the process to secure summer housing. We are pleased to be able to offer this service to the Greensboro area. The priority application deadline is April 30, 2024. All completed applications received prior to this deadline are guaranteed to be offered a space. Any applications submitted after the priority period will be offered a space on a first come first serve basis.

There are 3 steps to every intern application: The background check, the intern housing application, and the Dean’s Certification Form.

  • Step 1: Complete the Summer Intern Housing Application
    • Housing for college students, aged 18 years or older, who are participating in a summer internship or supervised research program in the Greensboro area. This form is for interns paying individually for summer housing. The Summer Intern Housing Application will be available starting March 1, 2024.
  • Step 2: Background Check
    • UNCG requires a background check be done for all employees and non-employee affiliates. This will be completed based on information provided in the intern housing application.
  • Step 3: Complete the Dean’s Certification Form
    • This form should be sent and completed by your current college or university dean. The student ID that is requested on the form is your ID at your college or university.

Account activation

Once the background check is received, HRL will establish the intern as an affiliate of the University. After your account has been set up, you should receive an email with your UNCG information and a temporary password to use to initially log into your new account.

Claim your account by following these steps:

  1. Go to https://myaccount.uncg.edu and log in with the username ([email protected]) and temporary password you received in your notification email.
  2. Set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) using your phone number or the Microsoft Authenticator App.
