The simple answer is no. If a member of your group decides to cancel their housing after you have been assigned, you are not responsible for filling that space, or paying for that space. A new resident will self-assign into that space.
It is always in your best interest to be as sure as possible about your grouping before you sign up together.
No, you must read your emails and sign up on the correct day.
The roommate group pin is a 4 to 8 digit pin that becomes a part of your profile. You will use it along with your University ID to be pulled into a group.
We require everyone to create a roommate group pin, just in case you decide to be pulled into a group later. If you don’t plan to be pulled into a group, just put random numbers so that you can continue to complete the Contract Renewal Application.
Join the Roommate Finder to find roommates and friends at UNCG.
All on-campus students will be given the default meal plan. Students will be sent an email on how to change this option at a later date.
A room change period will be available for students. This allows students to to select a new room while keeping your old room, without cancelling your housing application.
Once Current Campus Residents, Upperclass Non-Residents, or Transfer students have selected a room, they will be able to see available/unfilled rooms to make changes to their selection.
If you don’t see a space you are interested in, you might want to consider Room Swap instead.
Yes! Your roommate group pin is the secret password you give to someone along with your University ID to allow them to pull you into a room with them. If at any point (before you are pulled in), you decide you no longer want them to pull you in, simply change your Roommate Group Pin. In Artemis, click the “Group Pin” button to view or change your pin.
Priority times are reserved for students who renewed their contract during the priority application period: If you missed that deadline, you will be still be able to complete a guaranteed returner application until the application closes.
There are several reasons:
- You room is a special accommodation room. There are various reasons why a room is considered special and must be held for specific students. These rooms cannot be retained and will not be available during the assignment period.
- You are living in freshman housing. Freshman are required to move to upperclassmen housing, so that new freshman can move into their spaces.
- You haven’t completed your priority housing application. You must first complete the priority application before you can retain your room.
- You haven’t completed your pre-payment and/or it hasn’t been waived. You must complete the pre-payment if it wasn’t waived.
- You are living in Jefferson Suites or the Quad. Students in the Quad and Jefferson are not permitted to retain their spaces.
There are several reasons why this could happen:
- You already completed the application. You can only submit the application once.
- You are not currently living on campus. Only a current student can submit a priority returning application.
- The application is temporarily closed. A notice will appear under the Artemis graphic indicating any temporary closure.
If you have a complete housing application and have paid the $200 prepayment (unless otherwise waived), you are guaranteed housing for the upcoming academic year. We encourage students to continue checking Artemis as more spaces may become available at any time. View our video on more information regarding space availability in Artemis.
