Location & Building Features

Mary Foust Hall is the home of Ashby Residential College, which is an academic and social community for first- and second-year students that fosters an understanding of contemporary media literacies in civic and academic life. Founded in 1970, Ashby College is North Carolina’s oldest residential college and one of the oldest living-learning communities in the country.

With courses fulfilling UNCG’s General Education Curriculum, creative leadership and social programs, and classrooms and faculty offices located in Mary Foust Hall, Ashby College provides an immersive environment for intellectual and social growth. From the student-designed Haunted House, to the Foust Stock music festival, Ashby College’s traditional programs provide opportunities for students to grow their leadership and creativity within a collaborative and supportive community.
