Cone Residence Hall is home to the arts-based living-learning community, “Studio 91.” An exciting option for students who have an interest in art, dance, music, or theater. Cone Hall offers a new wing of practice rooms for music and theater, a music composition computer lab, a drawing lounge, and a dance practice room with a sprung floor and mirrors.Community members will also have the option to attend in-house programs and events related to the arts. Students majoring in any of the College of Visual and Performing Arts programs or ANY first-year student interested in the arts may apply to Studio 91 via the new student housing application.
Cone Hall is conveniently located near the Music Building and provides easy access to walking trails through the wooded areas of campus, as well as to the College Avenue and the Gray Drive areas, where all of the other traditional residence halls are located.
Two elevators in Cone carry students up and down all nine floors. The building layout offers double-occupancy rooms located on both sides of a long corridor, with community bathrooms that serve the floor (designated by gender). There’s a large community room on the ground floor with space to study, watch TV, or socialize. Residents can play pool, or use the full kitchen and laundry facilities, all on one floor.
