Guilford Hall is the home for Strong Residential College, which is an academic and social community for first- and second-year students that focuses on sustainability, hands-on research, and community-engaged learning. With courses fulfilling UNCG’s General Education Curriculum, creative leadership and social programs, and classrooms and faculty offices located in Guilford Hall, Strong College provides an immersive environment for intellectual and social growth.
From weekly teas to the Sustainability Dinner, Strong College’s traditional programs provide opportunities for students to grow their leadership and collective impact within a collaborative and supportive community.
Guilford is centrally located on “College Avenue,” an expansive pedestrian walkway that runs from North Drive to Spring Garden Street. Academic buildings, university dining, the Elliott University Center and the Jackson Library are all a short walk away.
Guilford has three floors of double-occupancy rooms in seven unique room configurations. Guilford residence hall offers unique architectural features, such as high ceilings, angled stairwells, and gabled windows overlooking a paved courtyard.
Guilford also has a large formal parlor on the first floor and a recently renovated kitchen and bathroom. Laundry facilities are available in the basement.
