It’s primarily first-year students who live in Moore/Strong, which offers the best of both worlds – traditional style housing and a suite-style community. With five study rooms, the “Pit” lounge, and a beautiful front lawn, the Moore/Strong community is the perfect place to both relax and socialize, as well as to study and maintain academic excellence. Moore/Strong also is home to the Make a Difference House, a community focused on service learning and leadership.

Location

The traditional residence halls along Gray Drive are located closest to West Market Street on the north side of campus, with easy access to both the walking trails and the athletic fields. The individual buildings along Gray Drive are identified with two names, one refers to the left side and the other, the right side of one combined building.

Building Features

Moore/Strong is a bit different from the other traditional halls. In addition to the double-occupancy rooms with community bathrooms on three floors, there are some suites in the center of the building. The suites contain two single and two double rooms and a separate bathroom for suite-mates to share.

The full kitchen is adjacent to “The Pit,” a recreation room on the first floor, to play ping pong or pool. Residents can study, or socialize in one of the lounges conveniently located on every floor. All double bedrooms have a sink.

Due to the configuration of the restrooms on each floor, men and women may be assigned to the same wing. The wings will have a community bathroom for men and a separate community bathroom for women, but men and women may be living in rooms side by side.
