ATTENTION STUDENTS ASSIGNED TO PHILLIPS HAWKINS FOR FALL 24

Phillips- Hawkins will be closed for Spring 2025 semester as the residence hall will be undergoing HVAC improvements. Students will be re-assigned to another hall and will need to move out of Phillips-Hawkins.

Reassignment Out of Phillips-Hawkins

Those assigned to Phillips-Hawkins will be given priority to receive another assignment. Housing will ask for preferences for this reassignment over the summer and continue to do so throughout the Fall semester. As new spaces become available that match preferences, housing will offer these spaces to students residing in Phillips Hawkins first.

Any students who have not moved before the end of the Fall semester must remove their belongings and return their key by December 13. Students will then move into their new assignment on January 7. Students will also have the option to move into their new assignment prior to Fall move out.

Those who do not accept a new assignment before the end of the Fall semester will need to move out and will be re-assigned over the break, the students will then move into their new assignment on January 7, 2025.

Reassignments for Reference

In 2023 Housing and Residence Life had planned on closing down Phillips-Hawkins for Renovations in 2024. The project was delayed until 2025. Location & Building Features

Phillip- Hawkins large lobby is a great space for you to hang out with all of your new friends. The traditional residence halls along Gray Drive are located closest to West Market Street on the north side of campus, with easy access to both the walking trails and the athletic fields.

The individual buildings along Gray Drive are identified with two names, one refers to the left side and the other, the right side of one combined building.

Upon entering Phillips/Hawkins on the third floor, students are greeted with an enormous game room/common area with a central staircase that leads down to the full kitchen. Also on the second floor, students gain access to ample indoor and outdoor gathering areas.

Phillips/Hawkins has kitchenettes (with refrigerators and microwaves) on all of the five floors on both sides of the residence hall. Community rooms are located throughout the building for studying or socializing and laundry facilities are on the third floor.

  • Laundry rooms located in 330 & 389
