South Spencer

South Spencer Residence Hall is the home of South Spencer Residential College, which is an academic and social community for students that focuses on law and justice.

With courses fulfilling UNCG’s General Education Curriculum, creative leadership and social programs, and two program manager offices and a classroom located in the Spencers Community, South Spencer Residential College provides an immersive environment for intellectual and social growth. South Spencer Residential College’s programs provide opportunities for students to grow their leadership and collective impact within a collaborative and supportive community.

The Spencers Community is a traditional style community that includes both North Spencer and South Spencer Residence Halls and is home to many Lloyd International Honors College students. The Spencers Community is conveniently located next to the library and dining hall. In addition to a game room, music room, collaboratorium, and computer lab, the Spencers Community also has two large parlors where students both relax and study. Once touted as having the longest hallways in a residence hall in the United States, the building design facilitates community building and provides a true home away from home.

South Spencer has:

• Rooms available on the ground floor
• Community showers and restrooms
• A large parlor on the first floor for students to study or socialize
• A large full kitchen on the first floor and laundry rooms on the first and second floors
• Large game room with television in basement
• Laundry rooms are located in 111, 161, 251, 211
• Trash Dumpsters are located outside of the building
• Please Note: South Spencer does not have an elevator.
